Cubitts opens in Brighton

It is the first practice to open outside of London

Cubitts has opened its first practice outside of London in Brighton’s North Laine, providing its full range of eyewear, made-to-measure services and eye examinations.

The design of the practice is an homage to the Great British seaside, with ‘bucket and spade nostalgia’ and art deco details to reflect Brighton’s architecture.

Sustainable recycled plastic surfaces have been sourced and the colour scheme of the practice features ‘soft, muted blues and warm wood tones inspired by Modernist interiors.’

Tom Broughton, founder of Cubitts, said: ‘This feels like somewhat of a spiritual homecoming for us. We are named after the Cubitt brothers, and one of the three, Thomas Cubitt, was involved in the building of Brighton’s Kemptown area and lived here for a while too.’
