Cubitts has opened its 11th London-based practice in Broadway Market in a Grade II listed site that used to house a pie and mash shop.
The practice retained original features from the 1930s, including glazed white and cream tiles with mirror panels, terrazzo floors and walls, and stained-glass windows.
Tom Broughton, founder of Cubitts, said: ‘It’s our hope that Cubitts Broadway Market isn’t just a shop, but becomes an integral part of the community for as long as we’re custodians of this exemplary building.’
To mark the opening, Cubitts designed a collection of frames inspired by Broadway Market’s buildings and natural spaces that were exclusively available at the new practice.
