Cut-price web link offers publicity boost

Focus Laser Vision Clinic (FLVC) in London has become the latest optical retailer to offer cut-price optical services on the website MyCityDeal which offers local daily promotions.

Through the site (also referred to as Groupon), businesses offer cut-price deals in return for the opportunity to publicise themselves to the large number of MyCityDeal members.

FLVC offered MyCityDeal members the chance to pay £99 for £1,500 off the cost of laser surgery on both eyes which the company said cost an average of £3,200. The laser surgery provider said the overall savings for patients would be between 28 and 54 per cent. FLVC joins companies including Optical Express and Glasses Direct to have offered deals on MyCityDeal.
