Lensway uses cut-price offer

Online internet retailer Lensway.co.uk offered users of the promotional website Groupon.co.uk the chance to buy £85 worth of frames from its site for £29.95 in a two-day offer in early February.

The retailer, which stocks eyewear brands such as Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, Gucci, Oakley and Tom Ford, sells spectacles complete with lenses and coatings from £9 upwards.

Under the offer, users could buy nine pairs of frames complete with 1.5 index lenses and anti-reflective, ultraviolet and scratch-resistant coatings for £29.95. Alternatively the £85 could be put towards a more expensive order. A total of 1,581 consumers bought into the offer.
