Cutler and Gross: Artistic homages

Cutler and Gross S/S 2022 is inspired by modern artists like David Hockney

British eyewear brand Cutler and Gross has launched its spring/summer 2022 collection of frames that are inspired by contemporary artists, such as Ralph Steadman and David Hockney.

Models, such as 1397, pictured, are described as an homage to the classic, late ’70s rectangle sunglass-shape and has been updated to feel contemporary and androgynous, with green on black and purple on nude pink colour options available.

The David Hockney inspired 1396 recalls Cutler and Gross’ archived 0736 frame, which was a favourite of the artist, and has been made using 9mm thick acetate with a slight side shield and original paddle temples designed by Graham Cutler in 1984.
