Acetate frames produced to mark 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death

New from British frame brand Cutler and Gross is the Shakespeare collection, which was released this week at Silmo.

The three acetate frames were produced to mark the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death. Cutler and Gross told Optician each frame was designed using shapes and colour palettes to echo a selection of characters from the playwright’s body of work.

Ophthalmic model, Portia 1021, pictured, pays tribute to the rich, intelligent and beautiful heroine of The Merchant of Venice, with upswept brow lines and deep temple joints. Hamlet 1234, pictured right, represents the prince of Denmark with a simple round shape, engraving and a new colour palette.
