This year’s Optometry Giving Sight Cycling for Sight challenge has been scheduled for Sunday August 28.

The 2016 cycle will take place in the Lake District, offering two road cycling distances as well as a first mountain biking challenge.

It has been scheduled to support World Sight Day 2016, and all funds raised through the challenge will support the Vision Aid Overseas projects.

A £40 entry fee covered evening meal, a cycling top, goody bag, guides for the mountain bike route, vehicle support for the road ride and a CET point from a poster quiz at the end of the ride, the charity said.

Last year the event raised £7,000 which went directly to Optometry Giving Sights’ eye care projects overseas.
