High street multiple Dollond & Aitchison has raised £100,000 over the past eight months for its chosen charity for 2006, the Moorfields Eye Hospital.
The total already exceeds the £75,000 pledged for 2006 which has been used to help build a children's play area at the hospital. Extra funds will go towards building a second area for the children to enjoy.
Staff from every area of the business have been involved in creating innovative fundraising activities including sponsored sports events, fancy dress days, auctions and raffles. Ian Balmer, chief executive of Moorfields Eye Hospital said: 'We are very grateful to D&A's employees, who gave up their time to raise money for these children's play areas.
It really is an incredible achievement and will benefit future patients for years to come.'
