Daysoft boss Ron Hamilton has written to the GOC to express his concerns about the regulator’s draft code of practice for the online supply of contact lenses.
Hamilton, executive chairman of the contact lens retailer, said in a letter that the code made ‘false assumptions’ and ‘discriminates against Daysoft’.
‘The code is based on the perpetuation of a “vicious-circle” by proposing to grant a logo to websites undertaking not to “substitute” even when there is a proven, safer, affordable, alternative, as is the case with patients buying online via www.daysoft.com for example,’ he added.
The GOC agreed to respond to his concerns in late December but has yet to do so.
