Scottish contact lens maker daysoft has hit out at its critics and defended its practice of brand switching contact lens wearers from other makes to its lenses.
A year on from launching its consumer-facing website, daysoft says sales have increased in value by 80 per cent and it has retained the support of its independent customer base.
When it launched its site daysoft said it expected opposition from competitors but was concerned about the attacks it had sustained from the General Optical Council.
Chairman Ron Hamilton said he had sought advice from the GOC on the law last autumn and adhered to all of the rules surrounding prescription verification as advice was issued.
