A design student visited the De Rigo factory in Italy earlier this month as part of his prize for winning a Dollond & Aitchison competition last year.
Andrew Sweet began designing 18 months ago when he entered the Dollond & Aitchison competition as a class project while doing a Jewellery & Metalwork degree at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design in Dundee. He won the competition with his 'Fusion 250' frames. He also produced a range of titanium prototype frames for his Degree Show in June and the New Designers exhibition in July. Mr Sweet is currently trying to get his frames into limited production.
