DEWS III findings debut at the BCLA Conference

The BCLA Clinical Conference & Exhibition, held at the International Conference Centre in Birmingham on June 5-7, saw the latest Tear Film and Ocular Surface (TFOS) Dry Eye Workshop (DEWS) report shared publicly for the first time.   

Professor James Wolffsohn, Professor Lyndon Jones, Professor Fiona Stapleton and associate Professor Jennifer Craig outlined the findings of TFOS DEWS III. This included an updated definition, a streamlined diagnostic process and a new treatment algorithm based on the latest evidence from global research.   

Elsewhere, the event took delegates on a deep dive into the latest contact lens and anterior eye technology, and clinical advancements. Patient voices were also to the fore, with several patients sharing their experiences of living with conditions such as dry eye and myopia.
