Two different charities have received several boxes of reading glasses following a mass donation by supplier Dibble Optical.

Vision Care for Homeless People was given 2,000 pieces for its centres in London, Birmingham and Brighton, while Vision Action received another 1,000 pairs.

Vision Action's fundraising volunteer Karen Thomson and chairman Ken Macdonald (pictured) took the delivery and also reported a £1,669 donation from industry forum theoptom.com.

Vision Care for Homeless People chair Elaine Styles said: 'The Dibble Optical donation is wonderfully generous and has filled the store cupboard so that we know this aspect of dispensing is taken care of for at least the next 18 months.'
