Sixty-three year-old dispensing optician Cyril Hill is trekking along the Great Wall of China this May on behalf of the Rotary Club of Oadby for the Institute of Cancer Research.
Hill, who owns three practices in Oadby, Wigston and Earl Shilton in Leicestershire, will trek for five days along the path of the wall. 'At the age of 63 (64 in June) I fully appreciate the need for careful preparation and consequently I'll be spending plenty of time in the gym,' he commented.
'My ambition is to raise over £6,000 from the many companies that we do business with as well as friends, relatives and fellow Rotarians. I would be most grateful for support to help achieve my target for a very worthwhile cause.' Hill is pictured being presented with a cheque for £600 by Leicester Optical's MD Michael Keily.
