There's just over a week to get your entries in for the 2007 Optician Awards.
Ten trophies are up for grabs this year with a clutch of new categories joining the list of popular perennials.The deadline for entries is February 19, so time is running out.
Among the new topics for 2007 are the Applied Spectacle Technology Practice of the Year Award, sponsored by Optovision, and the Software Practice of the Year Award, sponsored by Ocuco Relcon.
Two more new categories also bring with them new judging methods. The Freshlook Optical Assistant of the Year Award, sponsored by CIBA Vision, will be judged through a pro forma entry form in last week's Optician. The Independent Practice Website of the Year, sponsored by Essilor, will be judged by a panel made up of members of the public. To enter this award simply send in your website address.
