Andrea Dorigo, Luxottica's wholesale director for Northern Europe based at the company's London HQ in Hammersmith, is leaving the UK to assume leadership of the company's wholesale division in North America.
Dorigo, who joined Luxottica in 2005, had been responsible for wholesale business in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and Scandinavian countries as well as Luxottica's UK and Ireland retail businesses.
'As far as the region I leave behind goes and the UK market in particular, I am totally confident that the great leadership team in place will be able to take it to the next level,' Dorigo told Optician.
'The past five years have been an amazing journey of evolution and change. Luxottica UK is today stronger and better than it has ever been before. I am grateful to our customers who supported us all along the way and to the many Luxottica UK employees who made this success possible.'
Dorigo added that he was delighted to have been chosen for a key position in North America, which he described as one of the company's most important and most challenging markets.
