Dublin-based Opticks Superior Eyecare has opened a second practice and announced plans for a further eight outlets nationwide over the next five years, investing €5m and creating 40 new jobs.
The opening in Dun Laoghaire, south of Dublin, comes 12 months after Sven and Dublin-born Tonia Spollen-Behrens set up their first high-end practice in Dublin city centre, creating six full-time jobs in the first year of trading.
At the official opening, minister for enterprise, jobs and innovation Richard Bruton said: 'Opticks is an expanding, innovative Irish business with many lessons for policymakers and businesspeople alike. I am delighted to be involved in their expansion and to tell them that this government will support innovative indigenous companies like this in every way possible to ensure they can drive growth and employment in the economy again.'
