Dundee optometrist opens dental practice

An optometrist from Dundee has opened a dental surgery within his high-street practice as the first step in creating a multi-disciplinary health centre.

Ameen Sattar bought an Ideal Dental Care franchise and set up the branded concession within AS Optometrists, offering NHS and private treatments.

Sattar said: 'In a competitive market it's important that businesses such as ours have a point of difference and having a complementary service such as a dental practice can only be a good thing in retaining existing patients and attracting new ones.'

The next step would be to add a GP practice and ultimately he would also like to include services such as audiology and physiotherapy.
