
General Optical Council acting director of regulatory Marcus Dye will leave the organisation after seven years of service, the regulator has announced.
Dye had held the position since January 2022 following a spell as acting director of strategy from January 2020. He previously held the roles of head of standards and CET, standards manager and led the regulator’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
‘It has been a great honour to work with GOC staff, Council and stakeholders over the past seven years and to be at the forefront of some major, transformational projects,’ said Dye. ‘I will be taking a career break and I am looking forward to taking some time out to travel.’
