Leonie Milliner will succeed Lesley Longstone as chief executive and registrar at the General Optical Council as Longstone steps down from the position she has held since 2018.
Milliner, who is currently director of education at the GOC, has previously held the position of chief executive at the General Osteopathic Council and Voluntary Register of Nutritionists.
Milliner said she looked forward to working with the GOC’s chair, council, members and committee to put patients at the centre of regulatory matters. ‘I know that by working together to realise our ambitious strategy we can demonstrate the benefits of being a world class regulator, committed to excellent customer service and continuous improvement,’ she commented.
