
The search for a new chief executive at the General Optical Council has started as Lesley Longstone prepared to step down at the end of the year.
A new CEO would continue the GOC’s Fit for the Future strategic plan, implement reforms to its education systems and progress the review of the GOC’s organisational structure.
Dr Anne Wright, GOC chair of Council, said: ‘It will be important that the new CEO and Registrar is collaborative with the ability to work constructively with key partners across the regulatory and wider stakeholder landscape. An impressive track record of change management, relationship building and leading quality improvement in a complex organisation will be essential.’
