
Dr Anne Wright has been reappointed by the GOC’s privy council as chair of council for a further four years after taking up the role in April 2021.
Dr Wright said: ‘I am delighted to be reappointed as chair of council. It is an exciting time at the GOC, as we will shortly be launching a new five-year strategic plan, which will concentrate on ensuring safe and effective eye care for all.’
During Dr Wright’s first term, she led the GOC through its education strategic review and the introduction of a new continuing professional development scheme.
Leonie Milliner, chief executive and registrar at the GOC, said Dr Wright was instrumental in delivering the GOC’s ambition to become a world-class regulator.
