eBay contact lens test ends with warning

OPTICIAN’s attempts to test out how easy it is to sell contact lenses on eBay brought mixed results.

Early on September 29  the morning after the GOC announced it would be prosecuting the internet business for aiding and abetting contact lens sales on its UK website  optician attempted to sell four boxes of Ciba Vision Focus Daily Toric lenses on eBay.

Registering as a seller is simple, with no difficult questions asked about your past history and only basic questions about identity required.

Once registered, selling an item on eBay is fairly straightforward. The eBay administration system asks if you would like to auction the item or sell it at a fixed price and then leads the seller through a posting process.
