Former Maui Jim sales director Sean Collins is launching the environmentally friendly ECO (Earth Conscious Optics) eyewear collection from Modo into the UK market.
The product is made from 95 per cent recycled materials, using stainless steel that is post-consumer metal and acetate that is pre-consumer wastage from frame production. ECO Optics is certified by the independent agency UL Environment, and Modo plants a tree for every frame purchased. It has also created a system for donating used spectacles to people in need worldwide, where consumers send eyewear to a donation site in a recyclable box. One per cent of ECO Optics' turnover is donated to non-profit organisations.
