ECPs commit to taking on some blind corners

Equipment firm teams up with Speed of Sight to offer ECPs a driving experience

Topcon asked for ultimate trust from its customers when it asked them to speed round a race track wearing a blindfold.

The equipment firm invited a group of eye care professionals to the Bedfordshire Autodrome Racing Circuit last month for a track day experience.

Supporting chosen charity Speed of Sight, they drove dual controlled track and off-road cars.

After a few laps, the group agreed to be blindfolded for one circuit of the race track to experience the impact of blindness.

Mike Newman, CEO of Speed of Sight, said: ‘Without the support of companies like Topcon, who have a respect for the social value on visually impaired and disabled community, we would not be able to deliver these life-changing experiences.’
