Edmonds & Slatter optometrist levels up

Vikesh Chauhan, lead optometrist at Edmonds & Slatter Opticians, has successfully completed the medical retina professional certificate, which the company said improved its patient outcomes.

For four months, Chauhan pursued his full-time optometrist role alongside evening study, including online lectures, case studies, exams and completing a two-day workshop at Aston University.

This new qualification equipped Chauhan with advanced skills to carry out comprehensive retinal examinations, manage diabetic retinopathy and ocular vascular diseases, as well as improved detection of posterior uveitis.
