Edmonds & Slatter Opticians raised £1,037 during its winter fundraising campaign for Leicestershire-based charity Menphys, which will support children and young adults with additional needs and disabilities.
Linda Southin, operations manager at Edmonds & Slatter, said: ‘As independent opticians, engaging with our community is crucial. Our team has generously volunteered their time for these charity events and we are proud to support Menphys.’
Fundraising activity included Christmas jumper days, winter raffles held in conjunction with Christmas light switch-on events, and voluntary donations from patients.
Some of the funds will be put towards an afternoon tea event held by the charity for Mother’s Day, which will include card-making, live music and a family photo.
