Ophthalmic lenses manufacturer Signet Armorlite has been acquired by Essilor International's US subsidiary, EOA Holding Co for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition which is subject to approval by competition bodies is expected to be completed in the first half of the year.
With revenues of over $130m, Signet Armorlite specialises in entry-level and mid-range products for the independent sector. The company also manufactures lenses under the Kodak brand, for which it is the exclusive licensed manufacturer and distributor. In a statement confirming the acquisition, Essilor said the newly acquired company will continue to be led by its current management team.
