Essilor reports 15.1 per cent revenue growth

Essilor has reported a 15.1 per cent revenue increase in its first half results from €1.18bn in 2005 to €1.36bn in 2006, a growth of 8.7 per cent comparing like with like.

Essilor has reported a 15.1 per cent revenue increase in its first half results from 1.18bn in 2005 to 1.36bn in 2006, a growth of 8.7 per cent comparing like with like.

In Europe, the lens company reported a 7.6 per cent sales increase from €563m to €606m. It reported a like-for-like growth of 6.2 per cent.

Organic growth was strong throughout the first half, with revenue increasing 11.5 per cent like-for-like in the first quarter and 6.1 per cent in the second quarter, while businesses acquired in 2005 boosted reported revenue by 3.7 per cent. Acquisitions included sevreal lens laboratories in the US and stakes in GKB in India and Polylite, Taiwan.
