Essilor reports revenue rise

Essilor's revenue in the UK for the first quarter of 2011 has stabilised in comparison to the same period in 2010, according to its first quarter financial report statement.

The company's revenue increased 13.4 per cent to €1,027.6m during the quarter which included a 7.2 per cent contribution from acquisitions.

In Europe, sales of lenses and optical instruments increased 1.9 per cent on a like-for-like basis from 2010 to €365.3m.

Essilor's equipment sales showed substantial improvement, increasing 49.2 per cent to €40.4m, 26.2 per cent on a like-for-like basis.
