Essilor's Vision Test app most downloaded medical app

Essilor's Vision Test application has achieved over a million downloads and has become the most downloaded medical app on iTunes since it launch in July, 2010, leading the company to release a second generation version.

Like the original, the new application was created with the objective of driving eye test footfall into independent Varilux consultant opticians and is now available on mobile phones using Google'sAndroid operating system as well as Apple's iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad devices. Like the original version, tests in the new application have a pass or fail mode and users with results of less than 100 per cent are advised that their vision could be improved through optical correction and a full eye examination is recommended. Using the app, users can search immediately for their nearest Varilux consultant optician by entering their postcode or through global positioning system based on their current location.
