A new continuing education and training series on 'The rebirth of extended wear' begins this week in optician.
The five-part monthly series addresses the issues surrounding extended contact lens wear. Based on the British Contact Lens Association's 1999 CET day, it will be edited by Professor Deborah Sweeney of the Cornea and Contact Lens Research Unit, Sydney. The series is co-sponsored by manufacturers Bausch & Lomb and Ciba Vision. Approval has been sought for three modules from the College of Optometrists for credits on its CET scheme, as well as the support of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians under its new scheme, expected to be fully operational by early 2000.
