EYE BALL: Over £700 was raised for Optometry Giving Sight by Glasgow Caledonian University at its annual Eye Ball recently. Held at Oran Mor in Glasgow's West End, over 150 students attended the dinner and ceilidh, with raffle prizes which included a Volk lens, an Apple iPod and designer sunglasses - all handed out by Heather McCammon (right), vice president of the Optometry Society. Georgina Woolfrey, marketing communications executive at Optometry Giving Sight commented: 'The Glasgow students raised a phenomenal amount and we're so grateful for the efforts that went into organising the fundraising. We're really pleased that students are recognising the importance of providing eye care in places where services simply do not exist.'
