Optometry Scotland organises country-wide roadshow

Optometry Scotland has organised a country-wide roadshow to bring practitioners up to speed on new regulatory changes.

Its free events were targeted at ophthalmic teams delivering General Ophthalmic Services (GOS) in NHS Scotland.

Topics included amendments to the 2006 GOS regulations, recent changes to eye exam rules and future payment verification, and will take place in Aberdeen, Inverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling during November.

Samantha Watson, chair of Optometry Scotland, said: ‘It’s vital that ophthalmic teams are well supported in the effective delivery of GOS, including a strong understanding of fresh amendments to the original 2006 regulations, payment verification arrangements, eOpthalmic, and more.’
