Of the 2,096 people polled, 59 per cent were unaware of the effects of a poor diet, 35 per cent did not recognise links between obesity and poor eye health and a further 36 per cent did not know that smoking tobacco could damage eyes.

A further 54 per cent were unaware of the risks of reflected UV light and 29 per cent did not that blue light from low energy light bulbs and electronic devices could harm eyes.
