Firm highlights VDU business

Thousands of independent practices could benefit from an estimated seven million VDU users yet to enjoy the benefits of occupational lenses, according to Jonathan Kent, managing director of ASE Eyecare Plans.

The 16-year-old company oversees the national corporate accounts for some 500,000 public and private sector workers and is soon to launch an automated system to enable electronic ordering via its preferred supplier Rodenstock.

Kent added that corporate-eyecare.com has also set up a secure intranet site for all its clients, using banking security software that recently passed a stringent test with Barclays Bank. This enables clients' employees to log on to find their nearest optician and what they are entitled to.
