Firms count cost of show failure

Would-be Eye Show exhibitors remained confused and frustrated about their chances of recouping costs for the cancelled London event.

A notice originally posted on the The Eye Show website telling exhibitors to contact administrator Wilkins Kennedy had later been removed.

The Eye Show event director Dawn Kime told Optician she could not discuss the matter because she had signed a non-disclosure agreement.

Dr Narendra Kumar, editor of Optometry Today India, was told Wilkins Kennedy had not yet been appointed when he attempted to claim US$6,400 owed for advertising space. He was also told The Eye Show company 'is insolvent and has no money'.
