Silhouette claimed that it has become the first manufacturer to offer comprehensively glazed eight-base optical eyewear.
The Austrian company, which produces Adidas Eyewear under licence, explained that the eight-base optical frames in the Adidas Ambition Performance Optics range, which provide an unusually wide field of vision, were 'developed with the everyday athlete in mind'.
In order to provide the comprehensive glazing service across its eight-base optical range, Silhouette has partnered with German sports wrap-around glazing specialist, Rupp+Hubrach.
Explaining why Adidas had chosen to release the new, curved, optical range, a spokesperson said: 'If your technical sports sunglasses wrap around, why shouldn't your optical glasses?'
The new collection is also made from a lightweight SPX material combination with flexible steel inlays.
