First two students named to complete Johnson and Johnson summer project

The Success Through Education Programme is designed to help support students from their second year through to qualification

Hanifa Begum and Ben Ayliffe have been named as the first two recipients of a £1,500 summer Educational Project award from Johnson & Johnson as part of its Success Through Education Programme (STEP).

Working through the universities J&J offered students the opportunity to present a project based on a literature review or survey around one of ten suggested topics. The students applied through their universities outlining what would make them a suitable candidate to carry out the project. Each university then put forward its favoured student submission before a judging panel within J&J made the final selection.

Each student will be supported by a university supervisor and be offered help by J&J through The Vision Care Institute in Berkshire and the projects will be conducted outside the scope of the students’ degrees.
