The nylon thread is fixed in the acetate through a cylinder and is held by a screw. In this way the tractive powers act on the cylinder, not on the acetate. Flair states that this method ensures that the thread is the exact length required and remains undamaged, so extending the life of the frames. The company says German practitioners, the majority of whom carry out their own glazing, have welcomed the new technique and confirmed its ease of use. The first of the new models is the Flair 53, a unisex style which comes in six colours in size 45-19. The Flair 54, a men's frame, is available in six colours in sizes 47-19 and 4-20. The ladies' style, the Flair 52, was shown at Optica and Mido. It comes in four colours in size 46-17. Flair also launched new styles for its rimless, nylon and gold collections at the exhibitions. - For further information contact 0800 028 7935.
