German manufacturer Flair has extended its portfolio of rimless and lightweight ophthalmic frames with the release of a new lightweight men's Acetate range and women's Art Couture collection.
Pictured (left) from the men's collection is the 001 frame, which uses a mix of Bio-Steel and injection moulded acetate. The rectangular matt wine coloured 001 frame features a hingeless connection between the temples and acetate, which brings the total weight down to just 7g. A small screw is used to maintain temple tension.
The women's Art Couture collection (right) brings glamour to women's rimless eyewear, with 24-carat gold plating and Swarovski crystals. Flair's Pure hinge technology uses tied nylon instead of screws to attach the lenses. This allows for reduced weight and minimises the risk of breakage.
