FMO gives London Eye Show cool response

Plans for an optical exhibition in London just weeks before next year's Optrafair have been met with a cool response from the Federation of Manufacturing Opticians.

Few firm plans have been confirmed about The Eye Show which is slated to take place at ExCeL in London's Docklands next February 12-14.

The show organiser, Dawn Kime, exhibition director, claims to have booked exhibitors from the UK, USA, China and India but when asked by Optician refused to confirm the names of any of those who have booked.

Malcolm Polley, chief executive of the FMO, organiser of Optrafair at the NEC next April 13-15, said he couldn't understand why someone would try to organise a show just weeks before the industry's biggest event.
