The Federation of Manufacturing Opticians has presented a cheque of more than £5,000 from the profits of Optrafair to the Optical Workers Benevolent Fund to provide a lifeline for those not covered by other optical charities and pensions. Optical workers, both retired and still in employment, who face serious issues of hardship or poor health which hinders their ability to work, are encouraged to seek help.
