FODO chairman optimistic over confederation plans

As reported in Optician, (News, May 9), in a proposal outlined at the Association's AGM, Carroll called for a closer working relationship between the optical bodies on the model of the Eye Health Alliance, which he added could lead to the creation of a Confederation of British Optics.

The concept got the formal backing of the AOP during its recent AGM when outgoing chairman Trevor Warburton told delegates that collaboration on mutual issues in recent years had paved the way for such an organisation to become a reality.
