The Federation of Ophthalmic and Dispensing Opticians has drawn up a business plan committing itself to presenting a united voice for the profession and resisting all attempts to undermine professional status.
The plan sets out FODO's 'ethos, beliefs and methods' of working and details five work programmes which FODO delivers on behalf of its members and the wider profession.
FODO chairman Paul Carroll said the body wanted its partners and wider stakeholders to know what the organisation's aims were and how it intended to achieve them.
'We are passionate about our clinical/retail mix and the benefits this brings to patients, and will speak up for it wherever we can.'
