Latest spectacle frame fashions and technologies were on show at Germany’s flagship optical show last weekend

Nearly 26,000 visitors attended the opti trade fair over the course of the three-day event in Munich last week, according to show organisers GHM.

The German show for optics and design had a distinctly European feel with the majority of its 525 exhibitors, as well as 88.3 per cent of its 25,850 visitors, coming from the European Union. The large visitor turnout was reflected in product orders topping €178m (£138m).

The show welcomed a wide range of frame exhibitors, with some of them hosted in opti's new ‘Walk of Frame’ fashion area, in addition to lenses, contact lenses and equipment manufacturers and designers. Trade show attendees rated the “comprehensiveness and breadth of offerings” and “presence of market leaders” and the event was rated “very good to excellent” by 95.5 per cent of visitors, said its organisers.
