Specsavers is to market free varifocal lenses with frames costing from £75.

The offer will be promoted via a multi-media campaign using TV, the internet, billboards and radio from this Sunday, according to trade weekly Marketing.

The TV commercial features a supposed rival optician trying to destroy Specsavers billboards and other PR material for the varifocals offer. The radio adverts also feature the theme that somebody does not want the consumer to know about the promotion.
