The new Gant collection from Viva International Group has been inspired by a journey across America, from the deserts of Santa Fe to the campus of Georgetown university in Washington DC.
The company explained that the Gant Eyewear Fall collection reflected the timeless style of the brand's American sportswear heritage infused with a European touch, with contemporary shapes and distinctive temple treatments.
There are 38 styles in the men's line, including G Hagan, G Owens (1)and G Nash, whose temples have subtle colour blocking details and an acetate logo plaque. The handmade acetate temples are complemented with deep colours of horn, tortoise and black. G Nash is a full-frame acetate, G Owens has a metal front and the G Hagan model has a semi-rimless front.
Other features in men's opticals are raised hinge details, beveled temple designs and metal temple plaques with leather inserts, as found in G Clarke (2), G Abner, G Kenmore and G Salem. Gant describes this as a timeless collection with classic rounds, deeper sizes and semi-rimless options.
There are 18 styles in the women's optical line, for example GW Fern (3), GW Swan and GW Ivy, all featuring an open metal plaque on the handmade marble-ised acetate temples. Handmade acetate fronts come in translucent tones, as well as classic tortoise and solid black. The ST versions of these frames feature a border of fine crystal around the plaques. As well as Swarovski stone detailing and swooping temple designs there are jewel stone temple decors in GW Cordova (4), GW Chamita, GW Lyden and GW Medio. Feminine shapes include cat's eyes and soft rectangle profiles.
