ProDesign Denmark introduces Iris Collection

ProDesign Denmark has introduced its Iris Collection which picks up on the riot of colour currently sweeping the wider fashion business.

Colourful and curvy Iris takes its cues from the jewellery sector and mixes fine metals and acetates in shapes that pick up the trend of framing the eyes. Iris Collection 5168-70 takes deep pinks and fuchsias for the brows and temples and mixes these with fine metals for the cat eye accentuated front. The lens stops short of the top edge creating an illusion of size and brings an interesting twist to the piece.

Elsewhere in the collection ProDesign Denmark looked to brooches and the use of metalwork to create negative space to create a new shape. Thin delicate metal frames create an elegant lifting eyebrow effect, which is enhanced by a thin strip of contrasting colour matching the thin block acetate temples.

The Iris Collection 5333-35 (below) is a titanium frame that uses a twisted metal effect which parts at the temple front to create space. The open end-piece lifts the eyes giving a flattering cat eye shape. Hidden flex hinges enable the frames to be adjusted to maximise comfort.

Marie-Louise Japhetson, eyewear architect at ProDesign Denmark said she wanted to create an elegant light expression. ‘The colour palette of the new concepts is inspired by the magnificent colours of gemstones as well as true metal colours creating a luxurious look.’
