Get fit and raise money in 2002

Fight for Sight is urging members of the optical industry to make a New YearÕs resolution to join the charityÕs ÔGet Active Ð Get FundraisingÕ campaign in 2002. The charity hopes that when the over-indulgence of the festive season has taken its toll, people will focus on getting fit and join one of its fundraising campaigns.
Fight for Sight offers groups and individuals the chance to join in a variety of sporting sponsorship events including the Flora London Marathon in April, the second British 10km Road Race in July and the Flora WomenÕs Challenge in September. Fundraising officer Denise Courtney says there are numerous people in optics who have helped the charity with its aim to raise £2m each year for research into the prevention and treatment of blindness, but even more are needed.
